Srsly.
I'm thinking it's just AT&T that freaked us over, though.
We have DSL from AT&T.
Things were fine until about a month ago when construction workers chopped down a phone line on the main street nearby and our DSL went haywire for a while, then it got better, but since then:
pages don't load.
COnstant "Connection has been reset while the page was loading," "cannot connect to server," "server not found," and all that other crap.
IM messengers sign on, DC and rel og on only to DC again instantly or within a few seconds.
Maple won't work something about a virus vaccine(which none of my setting were changed so idfk what happened there).
Um, yeah. Videos don't load. They're go for a few seconds, stop, load a couple more seconds, stop. rinse and repeat.
Sometimes they won't load at all. And I'll have to refresh many times to get it to play. Sometimes it won't even work.
AT&T said the internet connection is fine, "it must be a problem with your computer," says the scripted "CUSTOMER SERVICE" person when I called multiple times.
I fully scanned and stuff my computer, got rid of an lsass, 'sasser' virus but it wasn't really doing anything. It was in my common files in a fake security folder. No random system shut downs happened like main sasser viruses. Just internet connection problems.
I don't know what to do, I've lost touch with so many people because of this, except the few on myspace that mail me.
And I don't think you guys can help either.
I did some command prompts to reset my IP or something, someone told me to do, to no effect. I've defragmented and cleaned up the disk multiple times to make it run better, but that's not the thing. I can't afford a new computer and this one is a Dell Dimension Desktop. XP 2400 or whatever you need to know about it.
Disgustingly slow celeron processor. But that's a whole other story.
Any ideas? I've raped Google so many times I don't know what to do. No money to call professionals so I'm screwed.
