Ok. First off, I’m writing this for several reasons, the most probably being to vent, clear up everything that happened tonight.
As everyone knows tonight was double drop from 7-9est. Well, being that I’m unfunded and have 1.5 million mesos in the bank. I was like. I need steelys, knowing that my best chance to get them I would need to leave ludi and head to Victoria Island. So I got on the boat after getting into Orbis. Once I got into ellina I took the cab to perion, refilled my stars and cleared up some space in all my inventory sections. I did this to prepare for a full 2 hours at red drakes. I was originally on channel 10. I remember this because I signed on my laptop as my mule so I could transfer items quick. Channel 10 had a few people on it. So I changed channel, 11-14 had several people on each map… probably in training parties. Channel 15 I spawned at the top spawn point of the map it looked clean, so I jumped down to see the bottom, as I jumped down a red blip appeared on the map and it turned out to be a 5x sin (probably looking for steelys) So I changed to the next channel. Spawned at the bottom part of the map and proceeded to check the top for anyone at the top. To my surprise, there was no one on the map. So I started my hunt.
Before I go any further I’d like to explain that to me, stealing someone’s channel is one of the more dishonorable acts that take place in the wide world of maple. I honestly don’t do it, if I was that type. I could have easily KS’d the sin on channel 15. If I was the KS’ing type, I wouldn’t have trained at Cold eyes instead of zombies last night.(for those that don’t know, it’s near impossible to find a zombie channel during 2x exp). That being said I will continue with this elaboration of the event.
After about 3-5 minutes of unsuccessful hunting an Ice/Lightning mage (Sm00the1) came to the map. Now on zombies where Skiing happens more often than anywhere else, you have to protect your map. Being used to that I continued to follow him to discourage him from trying to steal his map, much to my dismay, he stayed and continued to KS me. Now at this point, as well as throughout this whole altercation, he never said a word to me. Nothing at all to back up any claim that he was on the channel first or even a request for a shared map; I was then whispered by a person not know to me, his name was LordLahn. I don’t know how old he was but I was able to dispel his constant attacks riddled with broken words and swear words. After about 5 minutes of harassment he finally disabled whispers and that part ended there.
Then the people showed up. Two Crusaders, One hermit, and my good friend Sm00the1 all ksing me; The Crusader was named Kojiiro, The hermit was named JenniferLe, and I didn’t catch the other Crusader’s name. Though it’s not really important. I admit what happened next was a mix of me overreacting, me being disappointed that few people in guild actually cared about the whole situation, and the fact that people were siding on the other side of a guild mate. I do owe Alexa an apology because the way I was pushing the subject was unacceptable. However I do still believe that helping a friend steal a channel from someone else(without uttering a word to the person) is a little messed up. I was able to talk with Kojiiro a bit, and he is in fact a cool guy. He did in fact explain that his friend claimed to be there before me. I honestly checked that channel to make sure no one was there. I know that there was no way the mage was there before me if he had been I would have changed the channel just like every other time. I know my word is worth less than nothing to those that side with the mage that started this whole altercation. But writing this makes me feel better about the whole situation.
Krissy and I just talked about whether or not morals play a role in maplestory. To me, honor, honesty, and loyalty are three of the most important morals in and out of maple. I believe that lying over the internet is just as bad a lying in real life. But that’s just me, I definitely believe in karma, meaning that if you are a good person, don’t lie, cheat, and steal. Good things will come your way eventually. But then again, that’s just what I believe.
I realize there’s going to be mixed opinions about this and I’m not going to hate someone for having a difference of opinion about this situation. I’d like to say again that I’m sorry to Alexa, and her friend Kojiiro for calling him a douche. I was upset about the whole situation and overreacted.
Thanks for reading/understanding. Comments are welcome but let’s not try to argue about it too much.
